Eligibility for Admission :

The candidates should have passed the UG Degree examination in the 10+2+3 stream, with the same main subjects in part – III, for which he/she is seeking admission to B.Ed course.
Candidates with the following marks in the Bachelor’s Degree are eligible for admission to the programme other than Economics ,Commerce, Political Science, Psychology, Home Science, Logic, Indian Culture, subjects of which PG qualification will be mandatory.

Candidates with PG qualification and who have secured 50% of marks in the PG Degree alone will be considered for Economics ,Commerce, Political Science, Psychology, Home Science, Logic, Indian Culture,Optional Subjects.

Attendance :
Each candidate whose admission is approved by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University should gain 80% (i.e 144 days) of attendance, failing which they will not be permitted to appear for the B.Ed degree examination. (both written and practical examinations.)

Passing Minimum for Written Examination:
A candidate shall be declared to have passed the Written Examination only if he or she secures not less than 50% in each of the six courses. A candidate who fails in one or more courses in the Written Examination shall be permitted to appear again only for those courses in which he/she failed.

Reappearance for Written Examination:
Each unsuccessful candidate shall be permitted to reappear for the written examinations within the next three consecutive academic years.

PRACTICAL EXAMINATION FOR B.Ed COURSE:

A Panel consisting of Three Members ( One Convener and Two Members) duly appointed by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University will examine the teaching competency of each candidate and his/ her practical works / Records.

Passing Minimum for Practicum Components :
Candidates who have secured 50% in each of the practical activities for which weightage is given, shall be deemed to have passed in the practical examination. All the records related to the Practical Components should be made available to the Practical Examination Board at the time of Practical examination and whose decision on the marks to be awarded shall be final.

Reappearance for Practicum Component :
Each unsuccessful candidate shall be permitted to reappear for the practical components examinations within the next three consecutive academic years.

75 and Above       Distinction
60 to 74               First Class
